Speak to a migration agent →Construction and Trades Roles in High Demand Across Australia
Builders, contractors and trade businesses are all competing for the same carpenters, electricians, plumbers and site managers who are already in Australia. Construction trades are in high demand, and the local pool only goes so far.
Employers who are approved sponsors can look past that pool. They can recruit skilled tradespeople from overseas, and they can hire people already here on a working holiday, graduate or other temporary visa who want a long-term job and a pathway to permanent residency.
Employers that offer sponsorship often attract the skilled workers who are reliable and want to stay with the business. That is why we run recruitment and visa support as one service, so the hire and the visa are planned together.
- Carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians and other trades
- Project managers, estimators and site teams
- Engineers, surveyors and building designers

Common questions
Which construction roles do you recruit for?
Building and construction trades, plumbing, electrical, project management, engineering, surveying and building technician roles on the skilled occupation list. If your trade is not listed here, register anyway and tell us what you do.
Do I need a licence or skills assessment before I register?
No. You can register first. Many trades need a state or territory licence, and some need a skills assessment for migration. We tell you what applies to your trade so you can plan the steps.
I am a tradesperson overseas. Can I register?
Yes. The pathway depends on your trade and your experience. Our team explains what is involved, and our registered migration agents explain the visa side if you need it.
I am already working in Australia. Can I register?
Yes. Citizens, permanent residents and people with work rights can register. If you already have work rights, a role does not need sponsorship or a visa.
Will the employer sponsor me?
Not every employer or role does. It depends on the employer, the role and your circumstances. If you want to understand your options, book a consultation with a migration agent.
I am a builder or contractor. Can you help with regional vacancies?
Tell us the location when you submit the vacancy. We search for candidates in Australia and overseas, and we tell you what is realistic for the role and the location.
Can you guarantee a placement or a visa?
No one can. We cannot promise a placement, and visa outcomes are decided by the Department of Home Affairs. What we do is keep you informed, and explain the requirements early.
Not sure where to begin?
Speak to our team and we will point you to the right next step.
