We do not sell your personal information and we do not disclose your information to third parties for their own marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

10. Overseas disclosure

Some of the third-party providers we use store or process information on servers located outside Australia, and some applications and verifications require disclosure to overseas authorities relevant to your matter. As a result, your personal information may be disclosed to, or accessible from, recipients in countries outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. 11. Use of artificial intelligence

We may use enterprise-grade artificial intelligence tools to assist with tasks such as drafting correspondence and documents, research, and summarising information, as a productivity aid only. All AI-assisted work is reviewed and approved by a qualified Registered Migration Agent before it is relied upon or submitted on your behalf. We minimise the personal information input into AI tools and apply safeguards proportionate to its sensitivity. Some AI tools may store data on servers outside Australia, and section 10 applies. Where AI tool use forms part of a client engagement, it is governed by the terms of that engagement, and you may withdraw your consent to it at any time by writing to us.

We use reasonable technical, organisational, and physical security measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Access to your information is limited to authorised personnel who need it to perform your matter.

We retain your information for as long as required to deliver our services and to comply with our regulatory and legal record-keeping obligations. Migration Unity retains records in line with the Code of Conduct for registered migration agents and our internal records retention schedule, which provides for a minimum retention period of seven years from the closure of a matter, and longer where we consider it appropriate or where required by law.

Once retention is no longer required, your information is securely destroyed or permanently de-identified.

13. Notifiable data breaches

We maintain an internal breach response procedure aligned with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
